House Boats in Kerala

Known as the Venice of the East nowadays Kerala with its picturesque backwaters is the haunt of the affluent European tourist. The stretch from Quilon to Allepey in Kerala is linked by the Ashtamudi canal. Flanked on both sides by greenery with palm trees swaying by as if they were sleepy sentinels, the paddy fields that sometimes appear to be replaced by banana groves..it is a feast for the traveller from the Northern Zones with its dry bleak and long winters.Houseboats which traverse the backwaters play host to tourists giving them a taste of heaven in Gods own country!!
