UAE to issue temporary work permits

UAE will issue temporary work permits for a 6 month period according to Ministry of Labour (obaid rashid al zahmi). These temporary work permits are called mission visa's and will cost AED 500 which is around Rs 5440 as per current conversion rates. This has been prompted by the labour shortage caused by nearly 200,000 illegal workers taking up the amnesty scheme and returning to India. With the dollar loosing to the Indian rupee and construction picking up in India there is a reluctance among those who are returning, to go back to work in the UAE. Exploitation, poor working conditions, unpaid wages and inability to enforce compensation and salaries promised in appointment letters are being stated by many as the key reason. Cheating my manpower consultants is another reason which is keeping away the one's who have a choice.
