West Jet Christmas Promotion.

West Jet has come up with a very interesting promotion. Their credo is about caring for customers and being friendly and warm. True to their essence, they came up with a "brand action" which seems to have worked for them. Watch these videos. My guess is you will smile and then share it :) Which is why it is a great effort!!

Google Search TVC ReUnion. Brilliant Advertising.

Well, we knew that technology could make our lives better. Google decided to demonstrate that with their search engine's many applications. They made this TVC which has the whole sub-continent which covers India and Pakistan in a tizzy, or tears,  as the case may be.
Unlike some TVC's which look contrived, mawkish if not maudlin, this one looks genuine, realistic and not at all contrived. And more importantly, it stays within the product territory. The Google search engine is the main hero in the whole plot as it brings two separated friends and families together.
The Partition of the sub- continent is an emotionally charged issue in both countries and in those chaotic months, many families were uprooted from their homes and forced to live far away in another geography. One often see's the emotional undercurrents surface whenever the two countries come together in war, or in sport. Many creative efforts have crossed boundaries and resonated to applause in the other country and this TVC traverses that terrain. You could compare this to Isreal and Palestine, to the Balkans, I suppose. Yes, Google has delivered a heart warming story and managed to make themselves part of the everyday life with it.
Kudos to the team at Google and Ogilvy for a wonderful piece of work.

FLIPKART - Some good TVC's.

 These ads for an online shopping portal FlipKart caught my attention. Great use of humor and playfully removes any concerns people may have about this category. Given the clutter, the use of children as adults actually helps recall and branding. :) The Agency is Happy Creative Services. Great work people!

The TATA DOCOMO advertising and marketing effort seems to have hit the bulls eye in a market where there are established players and with well entrenched networks.I think a clear and differentiated proposition "one second billing and even sms messages that are billed on the basis of the content seems to have clicked with customers who now seem to be "value" driven. Telecom advertising seems to have raised the bar with the Hutch campaign and the zoo zoo's from Vodafone, the airtel campaigns with people and drama, the idea people churning out ideas and connecting with music shows on regional channels, everyone seems to be walking the talk:)
